Raw feeding does not need to become a second job. It needs a few cues that still work when the week gets busy.
Start with the current package directions. Build the routine around them. Keep portions frozen, move the next serving to the refrigerator, use one prep setup, and reset before you run out.
This is a planning guide, not a portion calculator or an individual feeding recommendation. Read the first-week handling checklist before building the schedule.
Build the week backward from the bowl
1. Mark the meals already on your calendar
Look at the days ahead and note the meals in your dog's current feeding plan. Do not create new portion math here. The goal is to see when the next serving needs to move and when the freezer needs a reset.
2. Count what is frozen
Count the sealed portions you have. Check that the next box will fit before you order it. Raw Dawg currently lists 8 lb, 16 lb, and 30 lb options, but the live product selector controls what is available when you shop.
3. Set one refrigerator cue
Put the reminder where you already plan your day. A calendar alert, a note on the freezer, or a recurring task can work. The cue should point back to the package, not replace it.
Keep it frozen. Thaw it in the refrigerator. Do not cook it. Follow the storage and refrigerated-use directions on the package in your box. If the package and website differ, stop and ask Raw Dawg before feeding.
Keep the physical setup small
4. Give each step one home
- Freezer: one zone for sealed portions.
- Refrigerator: one clean, sealed container for thawing food.
- Prep: one washable surface with the bowl and tools close by.
- Cleanup: soap, hot water, and the cleaning product you use for raw-food contact surfaces.
More gear does not make the routine better. A clear place for each step does.
Use a five-question reset
Before the week ends, ask:
- How many sealed portions are still frozen?
- When does the next serving move to the refrigerator?
- Is there room for the next box?
- Are the bowl, tools, and thawing container clean?
- Is any package or delivery instruction unclear?
If the answer to the last question is yes, contact Raw Dawg before improvising. Do not guess about thawing, refreezing, storage time, or a delivery that may have lost refrigeration.
Make the routine survive a busy Tuesday
The best system is not the most detailed one. It is the one you can run when the day is full. Count. Cue. Thaw. Serve. Clean. Reset.
Keep going
Review the raw dog food handling checklist, then compare the named Raw Dawg blends, or review the timing questions before you start.
How it fits the bowl: Raw Dawg is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Follow the nutritional-use statement on the package in your box and ask your veterinarian how Raw Dawg fits your dog's overall feeding plan.
